Five Ways To Protect Tooth Enamel Naturally
Enamel. The most under looked superhero in our body. It is not only the most visible part of our tooth, but it is also the hardest and most highly mineralized substance in our bodies. It is the “clear, white” stuff that we see surrounding our teeth. This humble solution is the most critical part of our mouth.
Enamel does soo much for us, how can we return this favour? Not only does increasing our enamel increase our oral health, it primarily increases the strength of our teeth. There are five ways to increase the amount of enamel in our mouth:
-
Choose a toothpaste with a high enamel content. This will increase your enamel input for a daily activity.
-
Avoid high-sugar items or if possible, chew sugar-free gum if possible. The sugar eats away at the enamel and can ultimately affect your oral health.
-
Consuming products that contain low acid unlike coffee as well as apple juice will reduce the impact on the enamel.
-
Brush daily
-
Do not brush hard. This is often overlooked as people believe brushing hard will remove bad bacteria. Unfortunately, this is not correct as it even scrubs away the enamel when brushed too hard.
These are the major techniques and tips that will increase the amount of enamel on your teeth as well as reduce the amount of enamel being brushed away. Enamel is the unsung superhero that does not take credit for the impact it has on our teeth. Why not treat it well!
